Things are really cooking here at the Al Jazeera Innovation Challenge: we have over 125 participants registered, and several first drafts of submissions are already entered into the system.
At the close of Week 3, we are looking forward to seeing some finalized submissions coming through soon.
Remember, you can deliver your app submission at any point during the Submission period, but you should get started early with a Draft, so you don't run into any issues at the deadline.
So how are you doing with your submission? Leave us a message or start a Discussion on the Board.
Spread the Word
Let your friends and family know about the challenge - they can join your team and assist with your work! If you win the challenge though, you should probably split the prize...
Looking for Sample Content?
Some registrants have asked us about sample content for their submissions (such as a sample story) - this really depends on the format of the media which is delivered in your app. We've tried to leave things fairly open-ended.
If you aren't creating your own sample content, feel free to search online for royalty-free media (such as content licensed under Creative Commons or similar licenses) and double-check that you are allowed to use that media in an open-source software project.
Al Jazeera's own content (on YouTube or on our channel websites) is also an option. Again, just be aware of any licensed or protected content that may be included.
TIME CHECK! 20 more days to submit.
Have a great week and good luck with moving your submission along.
Let us know how you're doing! Confused about what features to include in your app? Deciding on a programming language? We're available to help.
You can always email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or reach out on Twitter to @aljazeerair.
